I have been a cycling instructor in the UK for over 8 years on the government’s Bikeability programme, helping to bring the joy of riding a bike to a place where there isn’t really the same cycling culture. I have taught over 1000 people to ride a bike over the years (that is certainly a lot!) and many more how to improve their confidence off and on road. Whether in a one to one lesson or as a group, we can work together to find that same joy, even whilst cycling on the busiest of Dutch cycling streets.
Now I offer cycling lessons in the Netherlands (in Amsterdam, Utrecht, Hilversum, Amersfoort – and more!), I work with the Fietsersbond (the Dutch Cycling Union) and am here to offer my skills in an area that many Dutch people take for granted: riding a bike and doing to confidently. I offer three courses which can be adapted to suit your needs, depending on what you are looking to achieve.
Ik heb als kind in Brussel leren fietsen, een paar keer lelijk gevallen en daarna besloten om nooit meer te fietsen. Nu is mijn dochter aan het leren en dus moest ik het weer oppakken. Lucia was een fantastische docent! In twee lessen heb ik veel meer vertrouwen en durf ik nu in het verkeer te fietsen! Dankjewel Lucia!
I am lucky to have been able to be led by Lucia through wonderful yoga flows. She has an ease leading you through different poses. I recommend Lucia for all levels, she explains modifications for yoga poses clearly for beginners, and takes care when demonstrating posers for more advanced yogis.
Lucia was amazingly patient with my daughter, who is autistic and had enormous challenges learning to ride a bike. By the end of the fourth lesson she was riding independently and now rides her bike back and to school most days! Completely recommended.
We cannot recommend Lucia and Lucia moves highly enough! Our 6-year-old son went from an absolute beginner—unable to balance or pedal—to riding with supreme confidence in just four sessions. The transformation has been nothing short of astonishing. Lucia is a phenomenal instructor—strking the perfect balance between teaching the fundamentals and gently challenging him to push a little further each time. The patience, encouragement, and professionalism displayed by Lucia created such a positive learning environment that after every session, our son couldn’t wait to go back for the next one! The course ended with a ride around the local park, where he put all his new skills into action—just three hours earlier, he couldn't even ride, and by the end he was confidently cycling through the park. Thank you, Lucia, for giving our son such a fun, empowering experience. You’ve given him a skill that will last a lifetime—and the smile on his face says it all. Lucia is a fantastic instructor who has worked patiently with my daughter to build her confidence and get her riding independently. We’ve tried a few instructors before, and none have matched Lucia’s experience, patience, or understanding. My son was riding independently after just three lessons and now absolutely loves getting out on his bike. We’ve also had refresher sessions for both kids, each one carefully tailored to meet their individual needs. I would absolutely recommend Lucia!
I would highly recommend Lucia as a cycling 🚴 coach. As a nervous total beginner I was immediately put at ease and shown the ropes of cycling with ease comfort and expertise. Step by step I was soon cycling confidently & independently. on all types of terrain . All credit to Lucia for enabling me to unlock my superpowers. & conquer and overcome my fears.and ultimately being able to cycle safely in my latter years . Never too late ,take the plunge.💫💪🧘🚴..
Lucia is a first-rate cycle instructor. She was incredibly kind, empathetic and above all patient when tutoring our seven year old on how to ride a bike. Her fun and calm approach to teaching our daughter the basics of peddling, of maintaining her balance and allowing her to build up her confidence over the course of a very short period allowed us to witness her blossom into a confident cyclist. Most of all, our daughter immensely enjoyed looking forward to her ‘fun’ lessons. Thank you Lucia!
Lucia is a brilliant teacher! Both my children 6 & 8 years of age learnt how to cycle with her. After making several attempts myself i was shocked how by just their fourth lesson they were both cycling independently. The amount of fear, struggle with cycling motion & balance was huge but somehow Lucia managed to get them cycling in no time. Its evident that Lucia is a true professional, she is very experienced, patient, knowledgeable and friendly. Its a skill they will value & hold for life and it would not have been possible without Lucia. I highly recommend her for cycling as well as all the other services she offers
